Vickie Kalisz's
Apple Dumpling Recipe
Ingredients:
6 medium apples
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
8 Tbs. butter
3/4 c. milk
Directions:
Peel and core apples. If apples are too sweet, add some lemon juice.
Mix together above ingredients to make dough. Cut dough into 6
pieces. Roll out lightly until a little more than 1/8 in thick
(large enough to enclose an apple). Place an apple on a piece of
dough. Fill the center with brown sugar and cinnamon mixed in the
following proportions: 1 tsp. cinnamon to 1 c. brown sugar. Top with
a dab of butter. Fold dough over apple and seal. Place in pan.
(Note: You can put syrup in the pan which is mixed as follows: 1/2
c. water to 1/2 c, sugar. If you don't want the sugar, bake without
it.)
Bake at 400 degrees for 40-46 minutes.
ENJOY!
